"Actually, I thought my race was over, halfway through," Robin Orins reflects on the Herbeumont climbing race, an individual event supported by Belgian Cycling. "We started with five riders, but it was difficult to compete against teams that were represented by larger groups. I ended up in the third group, and soon we were two minutes behind the first group."

Orins managed to bridge the gap to the second group solo and then, along with about five other riders, caught up with the leaders. "With 30 kilometers to go, two of us broke away. Two more riders joined us. We eventually sprinted for the victory with five of us, and I had to acknowledge Van Hautegem's superiority. There was much more in it than that second place, but after all the hard work, I'm ultimately satisfied with my race."
