Development Lotto Dstny twice Belgian team time trial champion

It must be said: the women didn't face much competition during this years edition. In the absence of teams like AG Insurance, our women were the only continental team at the start. They faced competition from two club teams. "So we knew from the beginning that we would become national champions, but that didn't stop us from making it a great ride," says Fauve Bastiaenssen. Even Thalita de Jong, who is Dutch, was allowed to be part of the team according to the rules. "We don't often get the chance to ride a team time trial. In the Tour de France Femmes, for example, only individual time trials are organized. This is also the case in the Baloise Belgium Tour, which is coming up in our schedule. So it was really nice to be able to do this again."

There was also little turnout for the U23 category. Besides the Lotto Dstny Development Team, 29 club teams started in the Belgian Championship. "We were able to finish with a lead of more than a minute over the second place team," says Belgian time trial champion Robin Orins. "I was especially happy to wear my tricolor jersey again, as I rarely get the chance. It also felt good to train this discipline with the whole team beforehand."
