ProTeam Alec Segaert fifth in the opening time trial at Baloise Belgium Tour

In Beringen, the opening time trial of the Baloise Belgium Tour took place. The first leader would be known after a test of 12 kilometers against the clock. Søren Waerenskjold (Uno-X Mobility) was the fastest, 12 seconds behind him Alec Segaert took a fifth place. Segaert started a little bit later, after an emergency situation on the course.

“I’m happy with the result. This is something that should suit me, the time trial in the Baby Giro that I won last year was also over the same distance. I kept the focus after I heard I couldn’t start as planned. The winner was super strong, I don’t think I could have beaten him today. The only time trial I had done this season before today was in Bessèges, which wasn’t great. But this confirms I could keep pushing the watts as I wanted which is only positive towards the Belgian Championships.”
