In 2025 Aldo Taillieu (18), Leon Taillieu (20) and Lucas Van Gils (17) will ride for the Lotto Dstny Development Team.
Race 12 June 2024

Lucas Van Gils describes himself as a climber and time trialist. “My best moments this season so far are my victory in Laneffe and my seventh spot in La Classique des Alpes recently. I’m super happy with the chance to ride for the Lotto Dstny Devo Team. I think there’s still some progression possible training wise.” Van Gils is finishing his high school studies and is planning to study kinesitherapy further on.

Aldo Taillieu, who made the switch from mountain biking to road racing this season, wants to focus on his time trial capacities. “I am an allround rider, I still need to discover how far my capacities go. Kuurne Brussels Kuurne is my most beautiful victory this year, we did a great job as a team and it’s a beautiful race. I’m really looking forward now to this new step with Lotto Dstny. I want to grow especially on the nutrition part.”

His brother Leon Taillieu is also joining the Lotto Dstny Devo Team. “It’s super nice that Leon also gets this chance. He brings calmness and I have a strong bond with him, so it’s nice to be able to ride in the same team”, Aldo adds. “I’m an explosive punchy rider, for hilly courses”, Leon, who also comes from mountain biking, says. “I want to help the team as much as possible and grow. It’s unbelievable and a dream that I’ll be riding with my brother.”

Kurt Van de Wouwer, sports manager of Lotto Dstny, is proud with the signing of these three young riders. “Aldo Taillieu is one of the best among the juniors. He is a big talent, so we are really happy to have signed him. We will guide him and let him make progress. For Leon Taillieu I think there’s still a lot to discover, seeing his test results. Lucas Van Gils has a big grow margin, all three of them are still studying which is positive.”
